Danil Kerimi is an experienced technology, IP, finance, public administration and diplomacy executive with a track record of delivering impactful projects in corporate strategy and governance, national and municipal digital transformation, organizational change management, leadership development, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs, strategic foresight, macro-analysis, stakeholder management, innovation policy, tech and economic diplomacy in developed, emerging, and frontier markets. His career spans international organizations, philanthropical and non-for-profit organizations, academia, corporates, private equity, and startups.
Between 2004-2008, Danil worked for the Terrorism Prevention Branch of the UN Office on Drug and Crime where he created training and advisory materials for Judiciary and Criminal Justice officials, engaged with key organizations on anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT), creating communication lines with the IMF, OECD/FATF and national Financial Intelligence Units.
Between 2008 and 2020, He worked at World Economic Forum as Deputy Head, Global Technology Governance Network. During this time, he created and managed the Global Future Council on Metaverse, Quantum Applications, Future of Computing, Global Agenda Council on Cybersecurity. He created steering groups on AI and internet governance. He also created and managed the Regional Agenda Councils on Russia, Anti-Corruption, Conflict Prevention.
Between 2021-2022, he worked at Amazon Web Services World Wide Public Sector and Regulated Industries Cluster as the Head of the Institute Network, Government Transformation Team. He designed strategies, pilots and projects to build partnerships between and across organizations covering data sovereignty and residency, open government, and user centricity, technology code of practice, cloud first and innovation strategies, legacy technology, transformation discovery and organization mapping.
Today he is advising to the Secretary-General of the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization , the chairman of the Edgelands Institute (Geneva, Medellin, Nairobi), focusing on data management and security, urban design, public policy, leadership engagement and change management initiatives. He is furthermore engaged in future of work and future of learning initiatives including future proofing re-skilling and upskilling initiatives and preparing the workforce for the Quantum Age in time of enhanced geopolitical and market competition.
In 2023, Danil was elected to the Independent Oversight Advisory Committee of the World Intellectual Property Organization (Geneva).
Danil is a graduate of Shandong University (LLB), Vienna Diplomatic Academy (MAIS), and WEF’s Global Leadership Program (MBA) as well as numerous executive and NED courses (CBS, HKS, MIT, NUS , etc). He is a fellow at Berkman-Klein Center of Harvard University, Arrell Food Institute (Un. Of Guelph) and a doctoral candidate at the Technical University of Munich.
